Sometimes songs come to me and it feels like I plucked them out of thin air. I often imagine the song is like a butterfly and I am standing in the field with my net in hopes of catching one as it flutters past me. After that bolt of lightning enters my brain, it can either lead to nothing, or in this case, become fully realized from top to bottom and recorded for others to enjoy (or just exist in the background somewhere). With the internet and modern technology a song like this can be teleported to any part of the globe and even bounced off of satellites in outer space. The whole thing is really a trip when you think about it. 'I Hope You Like It' is an homage to all those elements paired with the sentiment that if you hear this song in a far off part of the world, or even just down the street from me in Ventura, CA, remember that we are all one, and I really do hope you like it. - SP
